TAN's Education Department is made up of highly trained staff and volunteers. TAN's outreach includes prevention education, HIV testing, and counseling for all of our community. TAN educators can make presentations at local schools, churches, health fairs, businesses, hospitals and health/social agencies. It is TAN's mission to increase awareness about HIV and AIDS in all areas of our community. | |

| For populations were HIV infections rates are higher, TAN's educators
do outreach through proven intervention programs specifically designed for the high risk population. TAN is currently involved in two such programs, one which targets persons living with HIV, Healthy Relationships, and the other which targets African-American women, SISTA, "Sisters Informing Sisters About Topics on AIDS". |

| TAN also implements a Perinatal program that provides education and health care resources for pregnant HIV positive women and HIV positive mothers with young infants. | |||
| Our program with African-American women is called SISTA, Sisters Informing Sisters about Topics on AIDS. The SISTA program involves focus group trainings with African-American women to teach negotiation skills that may be used with their partners when discussing safer sex practices. | |||

The prevention program with HIV positive individuals, Health Realtionships, seeks to reduce risky behavors thus reducing the spread of HIV from those who KNOW their HIV status. |
