The Triangle AIDS Network Board of Directors welcomes you to attend our monthly meetings. The meetings are conducted at the TAN main offices located at 1475 N. 7th Street, Beaumont, Texas at 6:00pm, usually on the last Thursday of the month. | ||
| There is no meeting during the month of December and the November meeting may be held a week early because of the Thanksgiving Holiday. Please be sure to call the TAN main office at 409-832-8338 or email the board president, John Smith (tanboard@tanbmt.com), to verify meeting time and location. All of the board's meetings are subject to the Texas Open Meetings Act and the public is very welcome to all open session meetings. TAN's Board of Directors currently consists of 11 members from different walks of life, but all sharing a common goal. As stated in our by-laws, "In this age of international health crisis, the Triangle AIDS Network, Inc. believes that every person should be called to awareness, compassion and involvement. The goals of TAN are to allow everyone in Southeast Texas to be able to do his or her own share, and to serve, in the best way possible, the needs of Persons With AIDS, their families and the general public. TAN will seek to educate the public, provide direct services to Persons with AIDS, to those whose lives are affected by AIDS, and will cooperate with groups with similar goals." Fundraising and seeking out new grant funding sources is always a top priority. The board fully supports TAN activities such as Paint the Town Red, AIDS Update Conference, Garden Gala, Client Christmas Party and the AIDS Memorial Service to name a few. The board is always involved in improving relations between the clients, the staff, our community in support of our mission statement. The board, with the help of the executive director, monitors all grant expenditures and grant requirements. The board is governed by several entities and regulations. The driving force, of course, is the client's needs and welfare. Also, consumer - community - provider groups such as the East Texas Community Planning Group (CPG) and the State of Texas Assembly Group East (STAGE-Area 4), develop and govern the programs TAN implements. TAN's Administrative Agency, called The Resource Group, and the Texas Department of State Health Services are the main governing bodies to which the board and TAN must be compliant. |
