This could not have came at a better time. With the government's decision to no longer fund the Early Access grant and losses incurred due to Hurricane Rita, this funding will do much to keep TAN's Early Intervention Virology Clinic operating as usual. Transportation and Clinic activites will continue with no interruption. This is the largest private foundation award TAN has ever received. This is not the first time the MAC Aids Fund has come to TAN's aid. In May 2006 MAC AIDS gave $30,000 to TAN for the puchase of a new passenger van and associated costs. MAC AIDS support is greatly appreciated and needed.

MAC AIDs was established in 1994 by M A C Cosmetics. International in scope and supports men, women and children affected by AIDS globally. According to the MAC AIDS website it was "decided that every cent of the selling price of the VIVA Glam lipsticks would go to the MAC AIDS Fund...The MAC AIDS Fund is the heart and soul of the company - with its employees giving their time, energy and talent to help those affected by HIV/AIDS worldwide."
